HOME IS WHERE THE HEART IS

My goodness. I was thinking about re-starting my blogging days when I came across this 4 year old blog. One post in 2008 and I didn't touch it again. Guess I'm not great at this kind of thing.

So I don't have a catchy blog URL, nor a deep/ interesting header; but, well, this will do.

Since it's been 4 years since my last post, I'll just post a couple of recent (albeit random) photos.

The Bordeaux Ecole de Management exchange students (minus one)

Me and the BF in SG

Me and the BFF in Germany

Okay, I got lazy so I didn't bother editing the photos.

So much has changed since the last post. I've left my life and home in the Hai and moved back to Singapore (and cried one too many times in the process); made new friends and lost some old ones; lost  a lover and gained another; cried (again), laughed, screamed, the whole shabang.

I'd like to say this would be the last time I'd have to change my entire life again. After all, home should be where I end up right? Funny, how I've referred to Singapore as my "home"; left for 10 years of my life before returning, and felt like an alien when I finally did, yet I'm supposed to called SG my "home". Well, yes, at the end of the day it is.

I was in denial for the longest time after I left the Hai because "home is where the heart is", and my heart was in Shanghai. I had history there, I had friends, memories, and loved ones. My heart will always be in Shanghai, but just like past relationships we all have to move on. Shanghai has moved on without me and it's time I do the same.

Having said that, it's time I find my Singaporean roots and continue to embrace it rather than living in memories like I have for the past 3 years.
