DAY 1: Sunday
My first celebration was with my parents and eldest sister at Table by Rang Mahal at Naumi Hotel. The food was amazing to say the least. Very authentic and delicious Indian food! Unlike most of the birthdays we celebrate, we didn't have any alcohol during the meal. But we did have...
Table pops!
It's basically a sugar-free popsicle with raspberries, served with more raspberries and strawberries in a martini glass. It was pretty nice and light for the end of a heavy meal.
And yes, we used our desserts for the birthday cheers.
Later on that same day I met up with some of my favourite Caderas people for dinner at Burger vs. Wings. Food was not bad but the service was meh.
And at the end of the meal, K & B surprised me with cake! (the first of many to come this week)
So sweet that this bunch took me out to celebrate because the boyfriend isn't here :) Twas a good day.
DAY 2: The Night Before
This wasn't an official celebration day (why do I even have more than one?), but my mom decided to whip out my birthday cake because all of us leave the house at different times every morning and usually don't see each other until nighttime... or sometimes not at all.
Taa-daa! To anyone who doesn't know, I love bears. So I found this really cute, and I did eat the entire bear.
Was actually looking pretty tired and a lot shittier than the photo depicts (thank you, filters).
I got presents!
My sister got me a gorgeous necklace and earrings, and my parents bought me...
An old-school [looking] radio! LOVE it, and now I can blast The Beach Boys and dance around my room.
Day 3: THE Day
Unfortunately, I had to work on my birthday (hello, corporate life) so that sucked. But my colleagues bought cupcakes to celebrate!
Loving this picture because my boss (far left) usually looks really serious and scary at work. Apparently he's actually quite fob, judging from this photo. Hah.
Met the best friend after work for dinner at Milagro's!
(Ew, my arm looks chubs)
So great spending some rare (now that we're working) quality time with this one!
Dinner was good and affordable. Not really authentic spanish food though, but for regular food it's great. We headed to Antoinette for dessert after, but I don't have a nice picture of that. Great dessert and great ambience though!
Day 4: Full of Surprises
One AM: The boyfriend's best friend called me and told me he had to pass me something, so I headed downstairs and received this!
The white borders are actually covered in train and bus tickets from the trips we took when the both of us were on exchange in Europe! Well, not all of them but most.
It was such a sweet gift, and I never really thought of JS as a very sentimental person, haha. Guess he proved me wrong.
Fast forward to that evening when I was out with the first true friend I made after moving back to Singapore, we had just eaten dinner and were checking out movie timings when suddenly...
BOOM, I hear people singing Happy Birthday, and turn around to see this lovely bunch:
Shame I don't have a picture of the cake, but it was a really unexpected surprise! :')
And they also got me these!
I had actually been wanting to get these since Christmas time, but never actually bought it because I didn't want to spend on shoes [again]. But, yay! I finally own them :)
Well, that's it. I'm another year older and one step closer to... old age?
Tah.
